Ecotourism In ‘God’S Own Country’, Kerala

1. Thenmala

Thenmala is known as the “honey hills,” one of Kerala and India’s top planned ecotourism destinations. At an elevation of 1650 meters over the hectares like dense forests lies Thenmala. A two-hour jeep ride from Kumily, the journey moves through tea and cardamom plantation, forests, waterfalls, etc. which you can make stops at or pass them. Gavi is abundant in flora and fauna. There are hills and valleys, tropical forests, sprawling grasslands, sholas, cascading waterfalls, and cardamom plantations.

3. Kumbalangi

Kumbalangi in Ernakulam district has come a long way in transforming itself from a tiny island to a model fishing village and thereby a popular tourist spot. The first eco-tourism village in India, Kumbalangi is surrounded by backwaters and is situated 15 km from Kochi city.
